I watched the Coronation of King Charles on the TV with some attendence from Nicholas and Neela during the event.

Christmas 2022

Christmas 2022 at home in Rönninge. Santa arrived on Christmas Eve and we opened our presents on Christmas Day this year. Emma and family came on Boxing Day when we all had a turkey dinner. Most of the snow, that had arrived in the weeks before Christmas, had now gone by the 25th this year. Only a frost and a sprinkle of fine snow was left to make it look almost white, but the ice was still 15cm thick on the lake and good for a walk.

Finally Caroline got to see an Elk in Rönninge, this one just down the road in a garden nearby.

3rd of advent

All of the family visiting for the 3rd of Advent. Home made mince pies, ginger cake and Christmas delights, which were much appreciated by everyone.

Nicholas has now been playing Ice Hockey for his team in Rönninge for the first term this year. Here he is in his team kit and his new hockey stick.

Caroline’s mother passed away - Traudel Frasch 2022

Caroline’s mother, Traudel Frasch, passed away unexpectantly on the 23rd of October 2022. She died at her home in Mainz. Caroline an Neela travelled to Germany the following week to pay their respects help with the arrangements and her cremation.

Sunny week on Gotland

 After a few years break we are back on Gotland for a week in the middle of summer. Hannah and Emma were there to and we see them both and their families. Hannah only for a day before they returned to Stockholm, but Emma and Jens and their two children, Ed and Dylan were there all week, so we all had lots of time together playing with them. We had a super time, sharing dinners and BBQ’s together and enjoying the warm weather. Nichols also had his birthday on the 20th and on Gotland again this year. Early in the week we met up our friends Josip and Therese and their 2 boys in Slite and had a swim and take-out pizza with them. We also went swimming on several beaches and in an old limestone quarry. As always, we went to see our favourite farmer Jonas and saw his new baby cows and collected fresh milk. Ice creams at Lergrav’s café, naturally, and Caro was on Fårö with Nicholas looking at the rock formations by the sea.

On Monday 11th July me and the children went to Vesterås to visit the action swimming center and ride on their super indoor water slides. 

The pool is up!

 Its official, the pool is up again this year following a super-hot midsummer weekend.

Michael visits for midsummer

Michael came over for a visit at midsummer and stayed with us for 6 days. Here you can see us on the balcony, at our friends for midsummer and in Stockholm. He was so lucky with the weather which was up to 30 degrees C over the weekend, unusually high for Sweden! We went to celebrate midsummer with our friends Bettina and Linus, along with 4 other families and friends. We had a traditional lunch buffet and a BBQ in the evening, with a swim and dancing around the maypole in between. Mike got to see Hannah and Emma’s families too. We also had some great quality time with Mike at home and in the garden as well as a day in Stockholm where we also met up with Emma.
